You are warmly invited to the Unite for Good Gathering — a powerful evening of First Peoples’ oral storytelling, where song, dance, drumming, and meaningful Anishinaabek teachings are shared souly through an Indigenous lens. This rare opportunity welcomes friends of the Original Peoples’, community members, educators, students, and all peoples’ of all ages to experience the living spirit, cultural wisdom, and timeless teachings of the Original Peoples’ of Turtle Island.

Through an Anishinaabe lens — rooted in ancestral knowledge, shared in a kind way, the Anishinaabe way — the Unite for Good Gathering offers a rare opportunity to experience the living traditions of Indigenous storytelling, song, dance, and drumming. These teachings, passed down generation to generation embody resilience and unyielding spirit, where songs carry truths and the drum connects us all to the sacred heartbeat of Mother Earth.

The evening is guided by respected Elders' and Anishinaabe Knowledge Carriers, including one of Turtle Island’s most distinguished former leaders, who will share untold histories, cultural teachings, and the foundational meaning of reconciliation through an aboriginal lens and the tradition of oral storytelling beyond words or policy.

Enriching this experience, also includes the sharing of a more meaningful and better understanding of the sacred power of song, drum and dance as narrated by a leading member of the Canadian Aboriginal Choice Award winners and Grammy Award nominated — Bear Creek Singers  — inviting all to connect with Anishinaabek ancestral ways, spirit and cultural teachings through the lens of the Original Peoples’.

More than an educational experience, the Unite for Good Gathering is the living act of reconciliation 101 in action — honouring the voice of Anishinaabek Peoples’, uplifting cultural truths, and creating a shared space for respectful understanding, healing and intercultural friendship. Together, we walk forward in unity, in genuine friendship, building a stronger foundation and more meaningful understanding to carry forward and benefit future generations and those yet to walk Mother Earth.

Presented by the Rotary Revival Club of Parry Sound and Friends of the Original Peoples’ Society, event proceeds support the youth of West Parry Sound, higher learning gateways, and First Nations youth singing, dance and drum teaching opportunities.
