On April 29, members, friends, and charity partners gathered at the Wasaga Stars Arena to celebrate the club's 40th Anniversary.
The gathering opened with President Carol Bateman sharing some of the Club’s history. Warm congratulations were delivered by Deputy Mayor Tanya Snell, on behalf of the Town of Wasaga Beach. Jennifer Armstrong from MP Terry Dowdall’s office presented certificates to members who received Ontario Volunteer Awards.
This special gathering featured an archival slide presentation and memorabilia highlighting the incredible work the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach has done over the past 40 years. It was a chance to reminisce and celebrate the impact the Club has made both locally and globally over the years. Rotary District Governor Juanita Hodgson shared remarks about the excellent work the Wasaga Club is doing.
The Club’s 26 charity partners were on hand to receive their cheque presentations from last year’s Corvette Lottery. Incredibly, over $240,000 was distributed. The local and regional charity partners gathered on the stairs behind this year’s Corvette for a group photo. This event also marked the kick-off of the 2024 Rotary Corvette Lottery Campaign.
