Mission 31 has been a long-standing fundraiser for the Elgin St Mission in Sudbury. However, like many other things over the last 2 years the Sudbury-Sunrisers Rotary club have had to change and adapt.

Mission 31 has focused on both raising monetary donations, bringing in volunteers and raising food donations for the mission.  On site involvement included having teams serving meals and prep for the dinner service with a monetary donation. With the pandemic, food service was adjusted to a brown bag window take away, but the club continues to co-ordinate teams to serve for 31 days in the month of December.
To further support the mission into the new year, the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers partnered with a local grocery store to promote food donation at the cash. Moving from the general bagging and requesting donations at the cash during the pandemic, the club co-ordinated with the grocery store to prepack bags of groceries for the mission for purchase upon check out. This minimized contact but maximized the items the Mission has the greatest needs for.

To bridge both, a community partner was brought in to match donations. This has culminated in an incredibly successful fundraiser for the mission totalling a monetary value of nearly $80,047
