This is the time of year when Rotary Clubs around the world start to recruit for their long-term exchange student. Students selected between now and November will go through a series of training weekends until they depart next summer. I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the activities of our Youth Exchange Program last year and ask that you consider adding this program to your club if you don't already do so.
Last year our district had 13 clubs send out a student on the long-term exchange. These students went to Austria, Switzerland, Brazil, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Chile and Denmark. Additionally, we had 6 short term exchanges take place during July and August with France, Finland and Spain.

Our YEX Committee is excited to be joining our Rebounds and Inbounds at the upcoming District Conference. We are available to discuss the program with you at any time over that weekend so please reach out to us for more details. Our students also love to talk about their experiences so please chat with them when you get the opportunity.

Past District Governor Margaret gathered feedback from the clubs last year and found out that the cost of the program was holding you back. We have fixed that! We have significantly reduced the cost of the program and this, combined with more clubs participating, will make the program manageable for all clubs.

I'm available for questions by email: adurtnall@gmail.com or by phone 705-627-3816. We would love to double our number of outbound students this year! What's holding you back?
