Rick has been a member of the Rotary Club of Peterborough since 1995. He has served as President and has been a Board Member for many years. An ‘active member’ by any description, Rick is either chairing or assisting with eight different Club committees during the 2011-2012 Rotary Year.

Rick’s father was a Rotarian and he feels honoured to carry on the family tradition and have the opportunities to serve that Rotary International provides.

Professionally, Rick helped manage a successful General Motors dealership in Peterborough before GM ended their franchise in 2009 along with 250 other franchises in Canada.  Rick’s family took this opportunity to embark on an ‘around the world’ adventure and together they explored 36 countries over the course of a year.  Rick has now started Kawartha Gourmet Coffee Company and is placing gourmet coffee machines in medium- to large-size workplaces throughout Peterborough.

Rick is happily married to Helene Denis and is the proud father of three healthy and terrific children – Elliott 7, Daisy 10, and Noah 12. An active community volunteer with a variety of organizations outside of Rotary, Rick is also an avid skier, cyclist and photographer, and is always game for any new adventure.

Rick is very excited to represent District 7010 as the Group Study Exchange Leader to Japan in April, 2012 and looks forward to selecting a remarkable team of young professionals on August 13th in North Bay.
