Rotary Club of Marshall Michigan District 6360

Project
The Rotary Club of Marshall, which serves a population of 7000 people, publishes a newspaper once a year and distributes it through out the City of Marshall and also through the County in which it is located.  It is titled the Marshall Rotary Fountain EXTRA, celebrating 86 years of service.

The cost to the public is a donation to the Rotary Club.  The project sells advertisements to the businesses that support the paper, they publish a centrefold of the doctors who work in the area along with their photographs and contact information, they describe certain projects that the Club has done and is doing in the community, such as the revitalisation of the front of their post office, upgrading the local park and so on, message from the District Governor, approx. 1/4 page, recipients of certain awards such as citizen of the year, Paul Harris recipients, red cross blood donor awards, scholarship awards, and so on.

The newspaper is 20 pages in length, is done in colour and black and white, is a full sized newspaper.

They have been doing this project for 61 years and distribute 1800 newspapers.

A committee of five members look after the whole project.
