The tournament has been very successful over the past sixteen years and the club is happy to be able to continue that tradition this year, albeit with some changes.
Normally, the tournament is held in support of Rotary Bursaries as well as other Rotary Initiatives and is generously supported by the local business community. However, 2020 is proving to be a challenging period for everyone and in particular for the owners, managers, employees of the many local businesses that are the life blood of the community.
This year the tournament [September 19th at Stone Ridge Golf Course] is being held in appreciation of the past sponsors. The club has not canvassed businesses for sponsorship money and instead are displaying past sponsor signage throughout the course on tournament day to recognize the local business community’s sustained support of the event.Arrangements have been made to offer tournament play at a reduced rate this year so that as many people as possible can enjoy a healthy outdoor activity in a safe way.
Although we have not structured this year’s tournament as a fundraising event, donations in support of Rotary Bursaries as well as other Rotary Initiatives, will be gratefully accepted on tournament day.
