Drew Markham 2026-2027

Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha

Drew Markham joined the Rotary Club of Huntsville in 2014 after two patients caught him at the right time, when he was ready to make a difference locally and abroad. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather Earl, who was a proud Rotarian in southwestern Ontario.

Shortly after completing his role as Club President in 2020, where he was involved with the formation of a satellite club, Drew and his wife Janet moved to England for two years. During his time there, he somehow ended up with membership in three diIerent clubs culminating in being a charter member of the Rotary Club of Bridgewater TraIord which happened to begin as a satellite club.

As a dentist who no longer practices full time, he has taken on new challenges within the profession and has thoroughly enjoyed participating in the HHART program where he has provided treatment to Haitian refugees in the Dominican Republic with no access to care.

Janet and Drew enjoy travelling the world, and their involvement in Rotary allows for those two loves to be combined whether that be on an international service project, a friendship exchange, or attending conventions in different parts of the world.

With this year’s District theme being, “Together Rotary Can”, Drew looks forward to sharing some of the innovative ways that Rotary can continue to ‘Create Lasting Impact’ – the International theme for this Rotary year.
