Happy Holidays everyone. I have been going to clubs and along with PDG Jack Lockhart, presented Dr. Isaac Bogoch with a Paul Harris Fellow at the North Bay club's meeting for his work on communicating and educating us about the current triple pandemics of Covid, RVS, and the flu on TV and radio. I have been to a Christmas party in Parry Sound meeting Ukrainians, inducting two new members, (photos in Parry Sound taken by Ray Pavlove, - Phil Black, moi, Rick Cain, Kat Peer, Mary Lynne Black, Pres. Linda West) and seeing the recognition of a long-standing Rotarian, Peter Daleman as an honorary member for over 50 years of service. We need to honour people. I feel that we are seeing a rebound of new members now - joining us, people in service coming from other service clubs that unfortunately have folded. I was to a party with the three Huntsville clubs coming together for a social. It is great to see Rotarians working and having fun together. I finished the week with a party at my own club.

Club Presidents, be sure to elect your incoming boards for next year. Succession is important. Some people may want to stay on in their present position, now having gone through the learning curve and wanting to take more time to accomplish their objectives. Others may want to step aside and allow a new face to take over and put their brand on projects and fundraising. Please consider donating to help our district become a peace building district – goal to raise $25,000 US. This is supposed to be the season of peace and we hope that we can have a Christmas ceasefire in the war in Ukraine. Have Arlette Utton show her excellent power point to your club.

Please consider donating to our Misko-Aki Indigenous museum in Gravenhurst to educate us all, Indigenous, and non-Indigenous about our past, present, and future, while getting our Rotary brand out on the Internet. We are working with District 7070 to our south for us to each raise $50,000. Scotiabank has given $500,000. Invite either Deborah Emery or Nicole Van Stone to speak to your club.

What is your club doing for the environment? As mentioned in my last newsletter, we now have Operation Pollination. Invite PDG Lynne Chant to speak to your club about this.
What will you be doing for Student Exchanges next year? Contact Wayne Harding. Have the current exchange students speak to their fellow students at their schools to drum up interest for next year.

Membership is growing. Consider having your membership committee mentor new members and train them to take their roles in their clubs, running meetings, having agendas, taking minutes.

We also have outgoing fellowship exchanges and trips. There is a trip to Nepal in April 2023. Please contact Marie Press of the Peterborough club. I will be leading a trip to India next November 2023 or January 2024. We have Indians arriving here this May. Please let me know if interested at richarddentonmddg2022.23@gmail.com.

I wish you a very Happy Holiday and a Healthy Peaceful New Year.

Your friendly District Governor here to serve you.
